- Account information: Your name, email address, and password (managed securely through Supabase Auth). When you sign in with Google, Apple, or Facebook, we receive your name and email as provided by the identity provider.
- Profile information: Your role (customer or tradesperson), postcode, location, business details (for tradespeople), and profile photo.
- Job information: Job descriptions, photos, budgets, and timeframes posted by customers.
- Quote and message data: Quotes, counter-offers, messages, and booking arrangements between customers and tradespeople.
- Usage data: We may collect anonymised analytics about how you use NearBy to improve our services.

Your information is shared with other NearBy users only as necessary for the platform to function:
- Tradespeople can see job details posted by customers in their area

- We do not sell your personal data to third parties
- We use Supabase for authentication and data storage, and Google, Apple, and Facebook for optional social login
Data Security
We use row-level security policies on our database to ensure users can only access their own data. Authentication is handled by Supabase Auth. Social login credentials are never stored on our servers — authentication is handled entirely by the respective providers.
Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us.
Your Rights
You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data. You can update your profile information within the app or contact us to exercise your data protection rights.
Cookies
NearBy uses local storage to maintain your login session. We do not use tracking cookies for advertising.
